Remember the paper chains you make every Christmas? We decided to give them a Valentine's twist.
Start by cutting card stock or construction paper in 1" x 8.5" strips. Make sure your paper is heavy enough to hold its heart shape. From our experience, if you make the strips much wider it is a little difficult to staple them and if you make them too long they don't hold their shape as well.
Fold strips in half and crease. (My three-year-old was in charge of this part, he said they look like alligators.)
Link paper together, but instead of overlapping ends fold them down to a point (the top of the heart.)
Pull them away from the middle and staple together.
Make your chain as long as you want.
My seven-year-old is so crazy about this project she has been making chains for two days now and is still going strong. Have fun.
