A Little Hostessing... Create an Inviting Guest Bathroom

I love to have house guests.  I love cleaning my house from top to bottom in anticipation of their arrival.  I think I got that from my mother.  We would have to clean EVERYTHING when guests were on their way.  And my mom always remembered to include little touches that made her house guests feel extra special.  So now, following in her tradition, I put a vase of fresh flowers by the bed, place stacks of fresh linens in the bathroom and stock the shower with special soaps and concoctions.

Here is an idea I love to make your guests feel a little more at home.  Create a guest bathroom tray that includes items they may have forgotten to bring themselves.  It will make them feel so relaxed... and they won't have to ask you for it.
Necessities include:
Cotton balls and swabs, yummy moisturizer (you can get 'em at a discount at TJ Maxx or in bulk at Costco), a new toothbrush (also Costco), toothpaste (I have fancy, guest toothpaste from Anthropologie) and a disposable razor (I ALWAYS forget a razor!)
Also, make sure the bathroom is stocked with more than enough fresh towels, TP (in an easy-to-find location) and a couple different types of soap (to each his/her own).  I like to use hotel shampoos and conditioners (if they are pretty) or Bath and Body Works has cute travel/guest sized items.

Your guests will love staying with you!
