Yesterday was National Prematurity Awareness Day and my friend Janet, who has two sons that were born premature, wrote this great post. Please visit her blog, Lessons Learning, to read the full post.

A Little New Baby... The all-time best diaper rash ointment
It is true. I am here to tell you about the best diaper rash ointment that has ever graced our planet.
I thought about it after reading Candace's post about new baby "must-have's."
And I realized that I must share this with the world, because this diaper rash ointment changed my life (or rather, the life of my babies)!
Here it is! Resinol.
I promise you this is THE ointment. My sister-in-law, who is a pediatric nurse, told me about it after my son had a horrible diaper rash for WEEKS and NOTHING was helping (Vaseline, Desitin, Butt Paste, Air Drying, Balmex, Medicated Ointments... you name it). I got "over the counter" (OTC) Resinol (you have to ask the pharmacist for it, but it is OTC) and within one night, his little rash was almost completely gone. I always have some on hand now with babies and take a travel-size container on trips. Anytime I even see a hint of a rash, I anoint baby's bottom... and it is gone baby gone!
You will love this. I promise. Trust me on this. It is the best.

A Little New Baby... Must Haves
Are you (or is someone you love) expecting a baby anytime soon?
Here are a few of my favorite "must haves" when bringing home your new bundle of joy.
I remember trying to figure out nursing a baby with other people around. It was so difficult to arrange everything while trying to hold blanket over my shoulder. These covers add a bit of style to nursing and a lot of privacy! Plus you can see your beautiful baby while he/she nurses.
ADEN + ANAIS SWADDLE BLANKETS
I wish I would have found these blankets sooner. Although I haven't ever used them with my babies several of my friends love them! They are thin so you can swaddle your baby and not have them get lost in a big, puffy blanket.
GAP BUNDLER NIGHTGOWNS (boy or girl)
I think these are the only outfits my babies used for the first few months. I had winter babies so we didn't leave the house much. No snaps not a lot of hassle. Simply open the bottom and change their little bottoms.
I had a very bad first time experience nursing. It hurt and hurt and hurt some more. I don't think anything helped. Then once my baby was 6 weeks old it simply went away. However, the second time around I grew to love Lansinoh. I put a little dab on after each feeding and I found out nursing wasn't so bad after all!
I love my Medela breastpump. I used it quite a bit with my first baby because I went back to work. However, it still came in handy with my other kids. I was able to pump (quickly) and leave a bottle or pump to relieve my engorged breasts. It's an investment. A little spendy but if you are going to use it for more than one child it's well worth the money.
CORNSTARCH
I know some of you are asking yourself, "cornstarch...why do you love cornstarch"? Well my husband's grandma introduced me to the great healing power of cornstarch. My oldest has very sensitive skin and his diaper rash was like none I have ever seen before. My doctor told me to wash the wipes I used with water we tried that, didn't work. We tried desitin, baby powder, anti-fungal cream, butt paste. We were even give a prescription cream. Nothing worked. That's when GG (grandma great to my kids) told me to sprinkle on a little cornstarch. It was like a miracle worker. The next morning the rash was almost gone. I dumped out all of my baby powder containers and filled them with cornstarch. It's wonderful!

A Little... Stinker
A friend of mine recently sent me a sample from her new product line, called "Little Stinker." I wasn't sure about "one more thing" for babies, but was happy to try it out, especially since it is an all-natural product. I fell in love with it! It smells DIVINE. Seriously, I kept sniffing it when I got it, and still do every time I pick it up. You know when you change your baby's diaper, wipe, wipe, and wipe (even with scented wipes) and it still doesn't smell fresh and clean (like it would after a bath?) Enter LITTLE STINKER! Lavender, Vanilla, natural, beautiful, fresh, clean, lovely.
My baby has really sensitive skin and so I was also interested to see if it would cause him to break out in a rash, and behold, it did not! It also works great on garbage pails, sheets, and husbands, etc. (even says so on the bottle! I tried it out and it is true! It smells heavenly. I know I keep saying that, but seriously. Heavenly.)
I also love this product because it is made by a mom, in the USA, and a portion of her sales go to helping parents buy milk and diapers for their children. So it is a win-win! Kathy is one of the coolest mamas I know, and her baby butt spray is just as cool as she is. You won't be disappointed!
Kathy left her fancy corporate job a year ago to work from home as a full time mom, and has worked hard because she believes in her product. She has been featured on Studio 5, has a website, and also a personal blog, and you can follow her on twitter.
I asked Kathy a little more about her story and how she became a business mom:
Little Stinker is a natural skin-care line for baby and mother. I am one of three business partners, but I am the sassy (and cuter) business partner. The other two are dads. We met six years ago while working together, and we all had kids in diapers at the time.
We were at lunch one day and Brick said, “You guys, I was changing the worst diaper. Wouldn’t it be great if there was something that could solve that lingering odor but used natural products?”
Travis, our formulator and regulatory compliance guy, jumped in, “Yeah, we could formulate it with chamomile and lavender.”
We’ve all had one of those embarrassing public poops and your kid stinks up the place… Little Stinker started out as a baby butt spray but has grown into a skin-care line for baby and mother to resolve the smelly issues of parenthood.
Little Stinker uses natural ingredients and organic botanicals. It is formulated to be hypoallergenic and is pediatrician and dermatologist tested.
We believe in helping support parents in need buy diapers and milk for their babies. A percentage of our sales goes to helping families.
Kathy is working hard to launch two new products for nursing mothers, so stay tuned on her blog and her website!
We love Kathy and think she is a little great, and know you will too!!!

A Little Organization...disposable baby bibs
By Candace
One of the best and easiest ways to keep your kids looking clean is a BIB! I always have a bib in my purse. It’s a necessity just like a diaper and wipes. If you carry one of those cute diaper/wipe cases you can just stash a clean bib in there.
I have been known to put a box of the disposable bibs in my glove box of my car so that if we decide to eat out on the run I have a bib.
These baby bjorn bibs are perfect to have at home. You would only need a few of them because when your baby is done eating you just wipe them off!
